Interim Co-Dean College of Arts & Media (CAM)

July 2022 – June 2024

CAM is the first college in Colorado devoted exclusively to arts & entertainment. The college offers industry-relevant contemporary degrees in Film & Television, Music & Entertainment, and Visual Arts. CAM graduates have achieved national and international awards and are employed by leading firms such as Apple, Pixar, NBCUniversal, Rolling Stone, and Disney.  Other graduates take an entrepreneurial path as independent artists, musicians, filmmakers, and sound engineers, while others launch creative businesses.

Co-Dean Partner: Nate Thompson, Associate Professor Film & Television

CAM Overview: 21 staff, 132 faculty (59 full time and 73 part-time), approximately 1200 students, 8 students members Dean’s Student Advisory Council, community members of the Dean’s Advisory Council.

Interim Co-Deans Goals for the Year

  • Increase belonging, well-being, trust, and transparency
  • Advance Strategic Enrollment Management in CAM – Create opportunities to change the lives of more students through enhancing student persistence, growing current programs, confirm new high-demand programs to build, and leverage current budget to invest in these efforts 
  • Adopt best-match recommendations from the IRC Taskforce Report to increase the well-being of our Lecturers, Instructors, and Clinical Teaching faculty
  • Enhance CAM’s scholarly and creative work activities
  • Effectively manage CAM financial and human resources
